                  Together Everyone Achieves More
                                          -ANON

Reflection: When working in a team, you all achieve the goal you’re aiming for. Aim for a goal and work as a team and you will succeed. Teams don’t only help you achieve your goal but everyone does because you guys help each other with a problem you don’t understand. Working in teams is better than working alone. When you work alone you don’t have anyone to help you besides yourself but what if you don’t get it who are you supposed to answer tour problem. Work together when you have the chance because that’s how you’ll make more friends and companions. Choose the right!!

“We become what we think about.”-Earl Nightingale

Reflection: In those times where we can’t stop thinking about something, it could be god or bad. We might be worried about the future or stuck in the past. We should always think of goodness to bring happiness to our lives. Ignore those bad thoughts that will bring you no good and appreciate the good thoughts. We should have thoughts about succeeding in life and it will come true. Visualize yourself as somebody in life. For example i personally think and know that i will grauate high school and college and reach my goal and as long as i dont doubt i will succeed. Choose the right.

“I wasn’t trying to leave a legacy. I was trying to do what was right."      -Dean Smith

Reflection: When we appeared in this life we came to this world not to leave a legacy but to do what’s right. We all have a purpose in this life and we each must fulfill it. Every day of our life’s in this world we must live choosing the right. It doesn’t matter what you did to be remembered, even if you tried so hard, what really matters is that you remember that you lived your life to the fullest and always chose the right. Be the best person you can ever be but don’t make others feel low because no one is perfect. Be kind, have joy, smile, enjoy every moment your alive with your friends and family doing the right things. Cherish every moment and always choose the right.

“My Experience so far at HPIAM”
Being a senior at Linda Esperanza Marquez high school has been a really great experience because I’m part of the first seniors to graduate from this new school. I have made great friends and met many interesting teachers. I have learned a lot in all my classes. I enjoy coming to this school because it is closer to my house. Some of my classes that I have right now have been a little tough in certain ways but I know I will overcome and get use to the process. The one thing I like about this school is that it’s not huge so I didn’t have any trouble looking for my classes the first day at this school when I first started as a junior. I was glad with letting us the students being able to wear what we wanted to because it let us express who we really were. Until we had to wear our uniforms because nobody wanted to wear their lanyards and yeah I can confess I didn’t like it either and yeah I’m didn’t wear it but now I regret not wearing it because now we have to wear these uniforms shirts which I personally never liked polo shirts. I have been to some fieldtrips in these recent semesters, the one I remember the most is when all my history class went to USS Iowa with Ms. Arellano it was really interesting because we got to actually go in the ship and see all the rooms of where the sailors slept and where they entertained themselves like playing poker or simply discussing certain topics. At this fieldtrip I didn’t get a souvenir because everything was really expensive at the gift shop but the experience is still kept with me. I have made really great friends and I appreciate having them as friends because they accept me for who I am. I am proud of being part of HPIAM at Linda Esperanza Marquez High School.

The Sting of the Scorpion

            Video Reflection
This story was about a 7 year old boy that was on a camping trip at the dessert with his family. While they were in the desert the little boy asked his parents if he could go walk around. His parents told him to wear his shoes while walking. The little boy was too lazy and didn't obey his parents and decided to wear flip flops and went wondering around. While he was walking he felt a sting on his leg and when he looked down it was a scorpion that bit him. He started to yell and his parents rushed him to a near by hospital which was only 2 hours away. On the way to the hospital he had a very severe pain on his leg, when he got to the hospital the doctor injected the boys leg with an antibiotic to numb his leg and reduce the pain he felt. After this situation the boy learned to always do what his parents say and he learned to not let his laziness stop him from choosing the right.
This situation taught me that every bad decision we make will always come with a consequence that will feel like a sting of a scorpion.

“In any moment of decision, the best thing to do is then right thing.”- Theodorwe Roosevelt

Reflection: This quote reminds me of the moments when I had to make a decision between right and wrong. It seems hard at first but in the end it was worth it. In every situaion that im in ive learned to always choose  whats best for me not matter what others think because everyone has the decision to choose to do whats right or whats wrong.

“There is no pillow so soft as a clear conscience”
                                              – French Proverb

Reflection: I guess this quote means to me that we should listen to our conscience in those moments when we have to decide whether doing what’s right and wrong. Listening to our conscience can actually save our life from a drastic decision we ever make, for example if you went to a party with your friends and the driver decides to drink when he knows he’s going to drive you guys back home. It’s better to listen to your conscience in that situation and call your parents to pick you up or ask someone else for a ride, you never know what might happen if you get in that car with a drunk driver. Always choose the right!

Student Success Statement

“I shall not pass through this life but once. Any good therefore that I can do, or any kindness I can show, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it; for I shall never pass this way again.” – ANON

Reflection: This quotes means to me that while we’re here today alive we should show as much kindness, trust, love, and compassion for one another because we never know when we’ll leave from this earth. We should enjoy our time with ourselves and everyone around us. If we had someone that hurted us physically or emotionally we should forgive and forget and enjoy every day of our life’s. For we only have one chance in this life, we should make the best of it.

                             ***!My summer!***

My summer was pretty much spent mostly at home. I would ride my bike outside or play basketball in my backyard. i would take care and play with my niece and nephew. I love to sleep so vacation was my time to rest. I went to six flags with a large group of youth from my church. It was really hot at six flags but it was fun. I got on water rides with my friends and sister. We ate hamburgers really good. Drank lots of soda and screamed a lot on the rides. We walk all around the park and were there since the morning until it closed. Had a great time with friends and family. I also went to San Fernando dam with all my family and had a great time. We got in the lake, their were so many people but the water was cool and refreshing so we didn't mind the sun. There were so many ducks and they would chase us it was scary but fun. I brought some rocks as memories, and even though i was red from my face when i got home i still had fun. I enjoy spending time with my family. I also had a sleep over with my best friend, Aileen. We slept late like around 4 am :) , watched movies and played games. Ate lots of junk food and got in her pool. We even baked a cake, mmmm delicous. She got a new puppy, so cute and small. She’s really a great friend to talk to and to especially laugh with. Some days of my vacation i would go with m y mom to work. But mostly other would only be at home cleaning or watching t.v.. I wish i could of done more things during vacation but with what i did i enjoyed it very much.
