Glenn Cunningham bio

Glenn Cunningham was a born in Atlanta,Kansas in August 4, 1909. as a young boy he and his brother were once in a fire because of a mistake of gasoline instead of kerosene which caused an explosion and caused Glenn legs to burn. Glenn received unbelievable burns and his transverse arch was completely destroyed but unfortunately his brother didn't make it and died. Doctors assumed that Glenn would never be able to walk normally again and even suggested to amputate his legs but Glenn's attitude was stronger than than anyone else. He believed and kept a positive attitude plus his religious faith towards his injuries and recovered with therapy in about 2 years. As time passed he began to walk and he tried and tried his best and he was able to run again. That's where his future began, he became one of the best Olympic runners, he set many records that were difficult for everyone. He was considered one of the greatest American miler of all time. He received the James E. Sullivan award as the top amateur athlete in the U.S. in 1933.

Reflection: this is a very inspiring story to know that he didn't give up even though the adversity that went to his life. This en-courageous me to never give up when an adversity comes into my life.
