“There is not giant step that does it. It’s a lot of little steps.” –Anon

Reflection:

Our life is a journey and we each have a goal to accomplish. Many don’t understand that to reach a goal it takes more than just one step; it requires more than you can imagine. The reason why it takes so many small steps is because every step is preparing us for our goal. Each step might seem harder as we go but in reality one step makes us stronger to overcome the next one. All we need to do is to persist even in the toughest situations in our lives, which will try to stop us or block our way of reaching the goal. We need strength, courage, a vision, determination, and a positive attitude to know that a journey starts with one step. On your journey just remember to say “I will persist until I succeed”. Don’t give up on your journey no matter how impossible seems. Choose the right.

“Right is right, even if everyone is against it, and wrong is wrong even if everyone is for it.” –William Penn

Reflection: I believe that doing what is right doesn't always satisfy every individual; maybe it’s doing wrong that satisfies them. I can personally agree with this quote because I have personally seen or pretty much been through this where sometimes I'm the only one that wants to do what’s right while everyone does wrong. I pretty much go against the crowd when it comes to choosing the right because I know the consequences that will turn out for me. Even though it may seem that no one is with you when deciding what is right, it’s usually the fear of other to get out of the little “popular” crowd because they fear what they are going to say about them. I don't know how I do it when it comes to not going along with the crowd because they might say I’m different but I know that I’m the brave one to be myself and to not let anyone else control my decisions. I try my best to choose the right and it doesn't bother me if I’m the only one choosing it because I know a God that has given me discernment to know what the right thing to do.

·         Cancer of the esophagus
·         Arterial septal defects

Salary:   $300,000-$500,000

Thoracic surgeons have to graduate from medical school and most commonly will go on to complete a five-year general surgery residency. “Cowardice asks the question ‘Is it safe?’                                                              Expediency asks the question ‘Is it politic?’
Vanity asks the question ‘Is it popular?’

But, conscience asks the question, ‘Is it right?’

And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but one must take it because one’s conscience tells one that it is right.                      –Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Reflection:

Sometimes we ask ourselves these questions in certain situations, but the real question we should ask ourselves is 'is it right?', ‘are we brave enough’. Are we really brave enough to actually do what’s right even if it’s not popular? We tend to go with the crowd just to be accepted but we need to know that what is popular is wrong and what no one does is right. We need courage to choose the right and ask questions that will uplift us and give us a feeling to keep fighting and moving forward. Keep walking forward and never look back. Choose the right.

When you tell a lie - Paul hatch

When you tell one lie, it leads to another
So you tell two lies to cover each other
Then you tell three lies and, oh brother
You’re in trouble in your ears!

So you tell four lies to try to protect you
Then you tell five lies so folks won’t suspect you
Then you tell six lies and you’ll collect
A life filled a life with worries and fears

‘Cause you can’t remember how many lies you've told
And half the things you say aren't true
And sometime you’ll slip-up, you’ll trip up and then
Whatever will become of you?

So you lie and lie without even trying
And each lie you tell will keep multiplying
‘Till the whole wide world will know you’re lying
Then you’ll be
Suspected
Detected
Rejected
Neglected
Disliked
And you should!
When you lie, you’re closing the door
On everything good.

“Your worth consists in what you are and not in what you have.”
 –Thomas Edison, Inventor

Reflection: the world that we live in today has conditioned us to think that the value of an individual consists of what they have, when in reality it’s based on who they are. People see more value in money, cars, gold, diamonds, clothing, shoes, and houses. They prefer to live of the material of this world instead of a gift that God has given us, our lives. With so much distraction of wanting material, we tend to forget the true value in ourselves, which is worth more than any material or object. We are worth more than any money or riches can buy. Each one of you is a different individual with a different value and you show your value in the way you speak and act. Don’t forget the value in you, we are all princesses and princes’ of God and no one or anything can make us more or less than how God created us. Be yourself even if everyone goes against you, know that there is someone who accepts you and wouldn't change you, he made you who you are, don’t change for someone else, He is God. Be the true you J. Choose the right.

“The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in Determination”- Tommy Lasorda
Reflection:
The only thing that stops an individual from reaching a goal/dream is the word “impossible”. If we could just stop focusing on what we can’t do and focus on what we can do, so many goals/dreams would have been already achieved. The word impossible is feared by those that don’t know the potential they have. Fear is best friends with impossible because they both stop a person from achieving or even starting something. For example, when i have lots of homework i still choose to stay up as late until i finish that homework for a good grade. It might be extremely hard impossible for me to talk in front of a large group but all I need to do is be determined to trust in God and he will give me courage and take away all fear and show me what to say.Choose the right.

“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams.
Live the life you have imagined.”
-Henry David Thoreau

“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams.
Live the life you have imagined.”
-Henry David Thoreau

Reflection:

Our dreams are the direction in our life, our purpose of living. As we plan out our life, we should walk confidently towards those dreams. Just don’t let your dreams just be dreams, make them come true. We can all have a fantasy world where we would like to live, but if we don’t try to make it real, we’ll only live there through our imagination. Take action to bring dreams into reality that we can be proud of the life we live in. We just need to understand that our plans or dreams should be placed in the hands of God before we even try to pursue them. He is the one who decides where we will be heading. He already has a plan for each of us that we don’t know about we just need to trust His will. Not everything we dream of will come true because God decides what’s best for us. Choose the right.
