Duties and
responsibilities:
Otolaryngologists provide treatment for
professional suffering from diseases of the ear, nose, throat, head, and neck
region. Some duties of these surgeons are:
Ø
Provides medical care for problems
related to the ear, nose, throat, head and neck
Ø
Exercise command of medical units as
provided by law and regulation
Ø
Medical research on diseases of military
importance
Ø
Participate in graduate medical
education and train other personnel
Salary: $411,639
Education:
To become this type of surgeon it is required
to have a medicine/osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school. A current
license to practice medicine in the United States, eligibility for board
certification is also needed. Completion of at least one year of an approved
graduate medical education internship and a training program in otolaryngology
is required. You must be between 21-42 years of age and be a U.S citizen.
