Speech Pathologists
Duties and Responsibilities:
Speech pathologists asses, diagnose, treat, and help to
prevent communication and swallowing disorders in patients. Speech, language,
and swallowing disorders result from a variety of causes, such as a stroke,
brain injury, hearing loss, developmental delay, a cleft palate, cerebral
palsy, or emotional problems. Speech pathologists work in school, healthcare
facilities, and hospitals and in patients’ homes.
Salary: $69,870
Educational Requirements:
To become speech pathologists it is required to have a
standard level of education with a master’s degree. They must be licensed and
have a certification.

Reflection: I don’t think I would like to be a speech pathologist
because it’s not a field I’m interested in.
