Oral Care Professional

                                          
Duties and Responsibilities:
An oral care professional is also called a dental hygienist. A oral care professional is a licensed health care professional who works together with dentists to provide preventive oral care. Although these individuals don’t identify and cure dental problems, they do provide valuable information and tips on sustaining good oral hygiene. Their duties include:
o   Checking gums and teeth for oral abnormalities
o   Taking and developing dental x-rays
o   Educating patients on oral hygiene
o   Developing care plans for maintaining good dental hygiene
o   Smoothing and polishing metal restorations
o   Removing stains and plaque
Salary: $70,700 per year, $33.99 per hour
Education:
A high school diploma and college entrance test scores are usually required for admission to a dental hygienist program. The applicant must be at least 18 years of age. Students should at least earn an associate’s degree, but its recommended a bachelor’s degree to have more experience in this field and get a good job.

Reflection: It’s an interesting topic but it doesn’t fully interests me so I don’t think I would like to become one.
